Frequently asked questions
What size boat trailer do I need?
Match the trailer to your boat’s length and its loaded weight — boat, motor, fuel and gear — and pick a trailer whose carrying capacity is comfortably above that number. Our boat trailer size guide lists our trailers by boat length.
Bunk or roller boat trailer?
Bunk trailers support the hull along carpeted boards and suit most fibreglass and aluminum boats, especially at deeper ramps. Roller trailers make launching and loading easier at shallow ramps. We build both — ask us which suits your boat and launch.
Aluminum, galvanized or painted steel?
Aluminum is the lightest and won’t rust. Galvanized steel is strong and resists corrosion well. Painted steel is the most affordable option and can be done in any colour.
Do boat trailers need brakes in Ontario?
Ontario requires working brakes on trailers with a gross weight over 1,360 kg (3,000 lb), so most tandem and tri-axle boat trailers need them. Our larger trailers come with electric brakes; check MTO rules for your setup.
